The Big Bash 20 over cricket tournament for women is underway in Australia. The Melbourne Renegades-Sydney Thunder clashed in a league match yesterday in McCoy. Batting first, Melbourne scored 175 for 5. Harmanpreet Kaur of India scored 81 runs.

Sydney’s next opener, India’s Mangai Smriti Mandana, failed to score a century.
Sydney was bowled out for 171 in 20 overs for 2 wickets, losing by 4 runs. Mandana, who became the first Indian to score a century in Big Bash cricket, was on the field with 114 runs (64 balls, 14 fours, 3 sixes).
She also equaled the record for most runs in the history of women’s Big Bash cricket by Ashley Gardner (114 against the Melbourne Stars in 2017 for the Sydney Sixers).
